Roller Bearing Cages

Rolling bearings - often also called ball bearings - are bearings that facilitate movements of components due to a rolling motion and reduce friction. Typical rolling elements are ball and cylinder (in smaller form also called needles). They are guided in cages.

Rolling bearing cages

Since the introduction of plastic injection moulding technology and the industrial processing of technical plastics, the rolling bearing industry has been concerned with the use of these technologies. It was recognised early on that the injection moulding process and the shaping possibilities it offers provide the ideal basis for technically highly efficient rolling bearing components.

Thanks to these technologies, the previously dominant metal and plastic products, mostly produced by machining, have been reduced to a few application areas in the market worldwide within a decade.

One of these areas of application is the large-diameter antifriction bearing sector, which has become increasingly important in the industrial sectors of construction machinery, textile machinery and defence technology since the 1960s.

The demands of these industries for similarly efficient rolling bearing accessories were taken up by KMF for the first time and realised in terms of production technology together with a Swiss manufacturing partner.

The product, rolling bearing cages manufactured by injection moulding as yard goods, has meanwhile been a proven, fixed component of the large-diameter bearing industry for decades.

The product catalogue - Rolling bearing cages - is intended to facilitate the selection and determination of KMF products. The products shown in the preferred series form a standard programme that is accessible to all interested parties.

Ball cage

LKF 2

Ball cages of type series KKLK are cage bands of type series KK 100 and KK 107 with ball guide and retainer, which are supplied filled with rolling elements. The ball cage bands are supplied by the meter or cut to length ready for installation. The standard ball for filled cage bands of the type series KKLK is made of the material 100Cr6 according to DIN 5401 / Grade 28 (Kl.3). Variants made of other materials such as corrosion-resistant steel X46Cr13 / 1.4034 or plastic POM and ceramic AL2O3 are also possible.

Needle cage

Radial roller cages of type series KKRR are single-row rolling element guided plastic cage belts for cylindrical rollers. The cage tapes are offered and supplied by the meter without cylindrical rollers under KMF type KKRR 207 and incl. rollers under KMF type KKRR....

KMF offers spacers, roller bearing cages for standard series and special cage bands on request.
